Each and every member of our friendly and knowledgeable team possesses an individual skillset that will ensure that — from the time you step into our garden centre to the moment you leave — your visit will be productive.
Grant Higgins is the founding member of Threaplands Ltd. He is a director of the company and is primarily responsible for the Landscaping side of the business. In 1984 Grant became a qualified time-served gardener with Moray Council, working in their Cooper Park Nurseries. He was then relocated and worked in the Grant Park Nursery and grounds in Forres which won the Britain in Bloom award on 3 occasions during his stay there. Grant offers over 20 years of landscaping experience, so there really isn’t anything you can show him in your garden or business grounds that will surprise him!
Scott Higgins is one of the two Directors at Threaplands Ltd, and heads up the Garden Centre and Business Administration. Scott is the driving force behind our business development, and is responsible for the upcoming site improvement and expansion plan. He joined the company in 2001 after 20 years in the IT industry in Aberdeen, but don’t let the computer based background fool you, there isn’t much Scott doesn’t know about gardening in the North East of Scotland!
The Retail/Garden Centre Team
Eilidh is our plant and retail supervisor. Eilidh has a wealth of retail experience and will make sure that your Threaplands Garden Centre shopping experience is the one you have come to expect. Eilidh says her, “main focus is ensuring great customer service from the start of the journey till the end,” Approachable, friendly and fun Eilidh is also our newest member of staff so please do go over and say hello if you see her around the Garden Centre!
LisaPlant Area Supervisor
Lisa is one of our full time Garden Centre members of staff. She has worked at most garden centres throughout Moray, before deciding Threaplands was the best and returning to us in 2014! A keen horticulturalist with a wealth of experience, Lisa will be able to answer any plant related question or query you may have.
Jacky joins us with 17 years retail experience. She enjoys helping the customers, is first aid and forklift trained. Jacky likes working outdoors and seeing the butterflies and bees around the plants, but is not so keen on the spiders in the tunnels!
Diana is one of our keen part-time team members. Having achieved her Horticulture SVQ3 training she certainly knows what she is talking about and is a whizz with pest and bug control. Diana is in charge of propagation at Threaplands and can help you with any queries you might have on a Sunday/Monday.
CarolHanging Basket designer!
Another member of the Higgins family, Carol is one of our longest serving members of staff at the Garden Centre. She has been with Threaplands since 2002 and has always offered her services with a smile. She is one of our qualified on-site first aiders and is our resident Hanging Basket designer and specialist. Carol’s tried and tested recipes for hanging baskets and planters are unrivalled in Moray.
Bob is our delivery driver and on-site handyman. Can he fix it? Yes he can! A former military man, he’s punctual, practical and a real people’s person. Bob joined us in 2014 and has already become an integral part of the team. He can be found in the Garden Centre Monday – Friday when he’s not out on the road.
The Restaurant/Kitchen Team
Douglas has been with Threaplands since 2009 and some say he single handed keeps many energy drink suppliers in business. He is the muscles in our team, if something needs moved or dug out he’s your man. During his time with the company he has learned from some of the best landscapers in Moray equipping him with all the skills needed in Landscaping. Douglas has qualifications in manual handling, abrasive wheels, H&S awareness and a CSCS card holder.
Ian has been a corner stone of the team for over 11 years with previous experience within the building merchant trade he is the font of all product knowledge. During his employment with Threaplands he has amassed an extensive skillset making him an experienced all round landscape gardener. Ian has qualifications in asbestos awareness, manual handling, abrasive wheels, Marshalls Suds installation, H&S awareness and a CSCS card holder.
Kenny joined the team in 2014 as an experienced time served builder. He is extremely talented in anything cement based he is a valuable asset on any site. He is now building up his experience within the soft side of landscaping making him the complete all-rounder. Kenny has qualifications in manual handling, abrasive wheels, H&S awareness and is a CSCS card holder.
