Their spherical flower heads are made up of ruffled layers of delicately formed silky petals in electric shades. They are easy to grow, too, simply requiring well-drained soil and a sunny position. We recommend digging in manure or compost and topping with general purpose fertiliser for optimum results. Dahlias are invaluable for the summer border, in patio containers or as cut flowers, often flowering until the first frosts. . Flowers June to September. Height 120-135cm.
